Ajmal Roshan was born in Calicut, India, in 1999. He completed his Integrated BS–MS dual degree with a major in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. He recently obtained his Ph.D. under the framework of the Swiss Nanoscience Institute, where his research focused on the surface chemistry and self-assembly of atomically precise zirconium and hafnium oxo clusters. His doctoral research was jointly supervised by Prof. Jonathan De Roo (University of Basel) and Prof. Patrick Shahgaldian (FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland). Ajmal is currently continuing as a postdoctoral researcher in the De Roo group.
